El Rey de Las Bajas Driver Email 3

We can almost taste the tacos! Some drivers have already begun to arrive, as well as many of the ULTRA4 core team. This is going to be a GREAT race in a town that’s excited to have us. This email is going out to all drivers who were register by the end of day May 8, 2021.

Please share with your crew chiefs and co-drivers as you see fit.

Wrist band pick up will be at Pete’s Camp Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 4 PM – 8 PM. After Thursday, the crew will be out at the course. Please try to pick up your driver, co-driver, and pit crew bands during these hours. If you haven’t ordered pit crew Hot Pit Passes, please do so at www.ultra4racing.com/tickets. This also goes for media check in and passes.

VP Racing Fuel truck will be at Pete’s Camp on Thursday from 12 PM – 5 PM and Friday from 8 AM – 3 PM for race fuel pickup if you ordered fuel. You should have also received and email from VP confirming this.

BORDER CROSSING LOGISTICS CARAVAN REMINDER

(a request: if you plan to cross with a group Wednesday or Thursday, please send me an email at alan@ultra4racing.com so I can make sure we have a list of everyone with each group who is planning to cross on which day)

The city and CODE OFF ROAD will be supplying a couple of courtesy escorts from the border to San Felipe on specific dates and hours, we recommend racers set up a rendezvous point in the US and drive up to the border as a group, this way we can expedite the border crossing, have a city official or race volunteer help at the border and have and escort/guide all the way to San Felipe.

All though caravans are suggested they are not required, any ULTRA4 race car, chase truck or team can cross the border at any time and should have no issues getting across the border and to San Felipe.

The caravan estimated days and times of departure from the US will be:

PLACE: Walmart parking lot at 2540 Rockwood ave, Calexico, CA, 92231

CROSSING: East Border Crossing 1699 Carr Rd, Calexico, CA, 92231 (closes at 2 PM)

DATE AND TIMES
Wednesday – Meet at Noon, 12:30 departure
Thursday – Meet at Noon, 12:30 departure
